A Powder Room fit for a Queen

Lets talk powder rooms, and lets be honest. Its so small, and you spend such little time in there that it can be neglected, and is usually one of the last rooms on your renovation list to tackle. This should be false for two reasons, first, and in most cases, some new paint and fresh towels can really freshen up the space, and second, in doing so you can really be done on a pretty small budget!

My powder room wasn't terrible but it was lacking character for sure. Especially after the painting of the rest of the main floor. I wanted something BOLD, something BRIGHT and something a little WILD. In comes Benjamin Moore Peony (2079-30)!

First I got my handyman hubs to frame in the window, because like the rest of the house everything is just bull-nosed. Then added some nice crown moulding, again, because its a small room you can add in extras at minimal cost! I went with the ulti-matte finish, because I didn't want a lot of shine and I absolutely love how it went on!! It took 3 coats, and probably would have been fine with two but it was such an intense colour I really wanted to make sure coverage was at its best! We switched out the light for something more modern and fun, bought a new sink to match the lines we were, accessories and some funky Ikea art and I couldn't be happier!

Here are some befores, and of course, some afters!

Its so bright and fun! Hope you like it as much as we do! See you next time! Who knows what I will have Brett tearing out next! Ha!
